From Aversa to Rome, Campania’s multi-brand kidswear lands on the Roman shopping street.
“In the project for the new Rubino store in Via del Babuino 25 in Rome, we wanted to focus attention on a key aspect of our approach to design; knowing the past to reinterpret the future!
In fact, if on the one hand the shop is projected into the future, on the other hand it has a subtle relationship with the context of one of the cities with the highest content of art and history.
Precisely for this reason, the sensation we sought was that of entering a space that almost confused the customer between the outside and the inside, working with a flooring that could be declined almost like an external square, without neglecting the craftsmanship. Hence the choice of herringbone terracotta that frames the space.
Space that is then reinterpreted through an intermediate vibrating plane that accompanies you inside the store both physically and visually. In fact, the shop is “divided” by a sinuous central element both on the ceiling, with a sign in which the lighting is hidden, and on the floor with alternating counters and hangers.
All to reinforce, then, the exposure on the sides of the shop to recreate that sense of strolling that would be done in an external square.
In this way, spaces without separation are created, drawing a path that crosses the whole environment.
The project is then strengthened by an alternation of materials that work for contrasts; a continuous sign in polished stainless steel generates the trend of the hangers framed by shelves in Grè strain and handmade clay backdrops with an irregular horizontal mark.
In the background of everything, almost closing the curtain, a curtain with a metallic effect defines the space, descending softly into the environment” says Architect Giacomo Ortenzi.
