Franz Kraler and Harper’s Bazaar Italy

Elegance, fashion, luxury: these are the main elements that characterize Harper’s Bazaar Italia and Franz Kraler, who will join forces for a unique event.

On March 10, the luxury shop Franz Kraler, at Corso Italia 119 in Cortina D’Ampezzo, will host a photo exhibition where 25 international Harper’s Bazaar covers from 1940 to the present will be displayed. This will be an exclusive event attended by guests from the famous Cortina boutique and Hearst Italia.

Franz Kraler gold sponsor of WinteRace 2023: the 10th anniversary edition March 9-11 in Cortina d’Ampezzo.

A total of 70 crews are allowed to start the regularity race: 45 historic cars including Alexander Kraler’s “badass” 1969 Mustang Mach I and 25 iconic cars from 1976 to the present day. They will be engaged in 2 stages for a total of 400 kilometers of route between Italy and Austria and 60 time trials they will have to face to write their name in the event’s Roll of Honor.

Cortina d’Ampezzo. Everything is already ready for the tenth edition of the WinteRace, a regularity race for 45 historic cars and 25 prestige and iconic cars on the calendar between Cortina d’Ampezzo and the Dolomite roads next March 9-11.

“The WinteRace,” remind organizers Rossella Labate and Stefano Sangalli, “is on the A.S.I. (Automotoclub Storico Italiano) calendar on behalf of the Club Veneto AutoMoto d’Epoca Giannino Marzotto. The crews at the start that we have admitted will bring cars representing 12 automotive brands. We like to emphasize the participation of Antewar cars such as a 1925 OM 665 Sport and a 1927 Bugatti Type 37, and among the Icon cars, on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Automobile Manufacturer, there are as many as 7 Aston Martin DBX 707s, the most powerful SUV in the world.”

The start of the first stage is scheduled for Friday, March 10, from Corso Italia in Cortina d’Ampezzo starting at 09:00 am. During the first stage it is scheduled to cross no less than five passes: Falzarego, Valparola, Gardena, Campolongo and Giau to finally return to Cortina d’Ampezzo at 17:30.

The stage will end with a special event: the inauguration of the exhibition of iconic Harper’s Bazaar international magazine covers set up at Franz Kraler in Corso Italia 119.

The second stage of WinteRace will start on Saturday, March 11, from 09:00 a.m., again from Corso Italia in Cortina d’Ampezzo. The route will run along Italian and Austrian roads. After the start from Cortina d’Ampezzo, the cars will reach Dobbiaco where, inside the park of the Cultural Center, some Time Trials will take place. Leaving Dobbiaco, the cars will continue to San Candido, then cross the border and in Austria they will pass through Sillian (with a stop for coffee at Loacker), and then reach Lienz around 12:00 noon greeted by costumed figures. The return to Cortina will then include transit through Sankt Justina, Strassen,
Sillian and a stop of the cars in San Candido around 15:00 hours. The crews will receive a special South Tyrolean-style welcome. After the restart, the cars will again pass through Toblach for the last trials. After the ascent to Lake Misurina, the arrival in Corso Italia for the final catwalk is scheduled from 16:30 with the presentation of the cars to the public. The Event will conclude on Saturday evening with the Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony at the Grand Hotel Savoia.

The event enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Cortina d’Ampezzo, San Candido, the City of Bressanone, Sonnenstadt Lienz and is promoted by Veneto – The Land of Venice.
