On Tuesday 6th August 2024, the Fashion Round-table meeting was held at the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, chaired by Minister Senator Adolfo Urso. The meeting was called in order to bring a package of interventions to this round-table, and in particular to address the critical moment that the sector is facing and thus prepare a relaunch.
The Fashion Round-table represents an important tool for a direct discussion between Confindustria and trade associations, the production chain and the Italian Government.
Camera Buyer Italia was also present at this last meeting thanks to the personal intervention of President Maura Basili, who brought to the Round-table a series of requests presented by CBI associates and aimed at supporting the category of Italian and European multi-brand fashion retailers that she represents.
After extensive discussions, Minister Urso listed various measures to support the sector, including:
– the re-modulation of bank loans by the banks;
– use of resources for social safety nets;
– the settlement and cancellation of credits on research and development in the sector;
– preparation of an intervention by ICE for the foreign promotion of fashion;
– extension of the re-payment of loans guaranteed by Sace and Simest.
The Minister also announced an acceleration of the timing, stating that the Fashion Round-table will focus on measures that can be implemented already in the second part of the current year, so that it is possible to best support the production growth of all companies involved.
